Re: Things you wanted to say......
You really are lucky!
I've seen Lou Reed in Brisbane about 1965, the Rolling Sones at Earl's Court in about 1974, Stills and Nash the same year, Dylan about 1993 in Melbourne.
The best live band I've ever seen was an Irish band called Hothouse Flowers (1993).
I'd have given my eye teeth to have seen Pink Floyd and The Band.

When you don't like what you see in the bathroom mirror.
(For the very first time in my life- at the age of 55- I'm on a kind of diet. Three weeks of much-needed and delightfully lazy annual leave involving a good deal of beer-drinking have inflated my abdominal bulge to unacceptable proportions, so I've been cutting a meal a day and laying off the Holsten Pils over the past week. Until today, that is... )
The same "bathroom mirror" principle could also be applied on a.. one might almost say...ethical/moral level. If I find myself (for whatever reason) behaving like a shit I try to rein my behaviour in a bit- not always successfully, but it doesn't pay to ignore the "agenbite of inwit" (the pang of conscience) TOO much. Or that's what I find. TOO much "agenbite of inwit" is also a bad thing, of course. It's a delicate balance.
I've been thinking about that line a lot lately and not for pleasure. What I find hard is to know when I have the right to be "morally" offended (to blame someone else instead of blaming me... if anybody). I'm in a mess but I think Jung was onto something hehe: “If there is anything we wish to change in the child, we should first examine it and see whether it is not something that could better be changed in ourselves.” I don't mean children have all the answers but I think they tend to celebrate rather than to blame and that's good.
Of course we need some room to move (or even to have fun...) but I think it's also hard to talk about balance when we're talking about "moral" values. I don't know if I'm getting it wrong but when I think of it, it reminds me of a line in a comedy movie where a self-interested man adviced another man something like "a man must be generous but without going too far".

At last I know what Peter Sellers meant... hehehe
- Hello.
- Hello.
- You're having some difficulty?
You sure?
Well. Excuse me.
You know that I don't think...
you're being
entirely honest with me?
We have a saying in India.
- Well?
- Well, what?
- You were saying
something about a saying.
What is it?
- "Wisdom...
"is the province of the aged...
"but the heart of a child
is pure."
- That's very pretty.
I'm not sure I know
what it means.
- Neither do I.
- What does it have
to do with me?
- Well, it has everything
to do with you.
For one thing, you see,
it stopped you crying.
- It's true.
I feel better.
Thank you very much.
- Don't thank me.
Thank my saying.
- Thank you, saying.
- Do you want to hear
another one of my sayings?
This is
a particularly good one...
because it will help you
always to remember...
how many days there are
in each month.
It goes like this:
"Thirty days hath September...
"October, June, and February.
"All the rest got twenty-nine...
"except my brother
who got six months."
