My Weekend
On friday night I went to the football by train with Mrs Watson . We had a good time. My team lost by 2 p;oints but played well.
On the train trip there and back I read 420 pages of a book "Count To Ten " by Karen Rose.
It was a reading copy I had been given by a publisher.
On Saturday I did some gardening in the morning. During the afternoon I went in a 3 k cross country race . I was slower than I hoped.
Then I went with my daughter to a family serrvice at our local church.
Sunday morning I attended a combined service at the Anglican Church. It has no electrity and it was very dark.
In the afternoon I did more gardening despite light rain falling.
In the evening we went out to dinner to farewell some friends who are going to England for 3 months.

Re: My Weekend
I was going to add to this fascinating post every monday morning .
However with all the other drama going on here I feel it is now not important.
So I will not detail how I went to the football again , went running again , went to chuch again etc and had quality time with my family.

You are wrong Doc, it is important to every single one of us (or at least it should be).
Now, a more detailed update please....

All I will add is that I did a short race on Saturday 2.5 kilometres , not very long , but as a 61 one year old I was pleased to finish strongly and ahead oif two other runnersLane Coutell wrote:Doc Watson wrote:

Re: My Weekend
Sorry to have taken so long as I know this thread is the monday highlight for many of you . .
On friday I went to coin club I did not by anything.
Saturday the venue for Cross Country was in the forest near my home.
So Mrs Doc and I marked the course.
The run went ok only 2 runners had complaints about the course.
Afterward some people came back to our place , and we had some wine.
Late in the evening we had to go and pick up the youngeet Doc Watson child from a party.
On Sunday IO was already going to do the children's talk at church , however the vicar phoned in sick , so I ended up doing the whole service . Every one thought I did well.
I did a little gardening on Sunday afternoon while listening to a broadcast of the football.

One person thought the course was too rough, while another measured it on his pedometer and claimed it was slightly shortDoc Watson wrote:On friday I went to coin club I did not buy anything.

It is a cooin and collectables club , we buy and sell coins with each other and discuss information about coinsDoc Watson wrote:and we had some wine.

The theme was the accension to heaven of Jesus , while for the children's talk I read a picture story book about a girl and a doll she loved very much . I had no need to shoutDoc Watson wrote:I did a little gardening on Sunday afternoon while listening to a broadcast of the football.

So Mrs Doc and I marked the course.
Is that like marking your territory?

Re: My Weekend
lol no it involves measuring the course and putting arrows, turn around points bunting across possible places where people could make wrong turns and kilometre indicators , witches hats at various points and removing things like branches which may trip up runners.Nah Ville Sky Chick wrote:So Mrs Doc and I marked the course.

Talk about burning the candle through the middle with a blowtorch. Hopefully, he slows down a bit during the week.

Saturday evening we went to a play it was about the end of the war , but not very good , then we had soime coffee with old friends we had met at the theatre .
Sunday after church , my son and I went down to the football . Our team won again.
