When we moved to the beach the sunday school picnics were in reverse we travelled away from the beach to a country picnic ground . The food was still the same oodles of home made cakes and sandwhiches .
The entertainment was picnic races .
As my father was the minister I had to go and a month later there was another event I could not get of .
It was known as the old folks picnic and we travelled up in a furniture van with seats , the average age of the attendees was 75 and once there all they did was sit around and talk. Again the best part was the lunch.
