this is called the 3 Sisters.
Rock formations
in the Blue Mountains, which are in our Great Dividing Range.
close (sort of) to where emu lives.

Re: Australia - Your impressions?
this is Sidgird Thornton in the movie The Man From The Snowy River, with co-star Brian Denneny.
she is young and beautiful
and here she is playing Delie, in All The Rivers Run, the story about love on a paddle steamer that runs along the Murry River in the early years of Australia's history, transporting wool.
and recent in a movie called Tomorrow When the War Began
Melbourne.
Re: Australia - Your impressions?
we've seen teh endless beaches, beauty, brawn and brains.......
now for a look at the underbelly (pun intended) of Australia......
ugliness, stupidity, craven greed and prevarication, did I mention stupidity and ugliness......
the other day on RBT (at work - I would never watch this shit voluntarily - Random Breath Test - duh) - heheheheh (a show that is watched by quite a few stupid Australians)
a truck driver druggie who takes at least 2 cones of metamphetamine (not sure how you spell that) every day.....so he can keep trukkin
the officer said - 'would you agree to an oral fluid sample?'
the guy, let's call him Hank, said 'I don't need to piss right now'
the officer said - 'no, an oral fluid sample'
the guy, let's call him Hank, said 'Oh, you mean blood?'
the officer said - 'no , an oral fluid sample'
the guy, let's call him a moron, said, "Sure I can hack up a spit for ya......"
sheer beauty
whereas I was nearly weeping as I finished up an episode of Bondi Vet - where the totally delicious Chris Brown rescued a number of animals......and by a number I mean quite a few......my heart was ripped open as I meticulously captioned the show......
Barry and Bruce - I nearly had a heart attack - two little orphan brother boxers left out on the streets of Maroubra......oh, the horror!!!!!!
(and I really loved the way Chris Brown said 'try to' instead of 'try and' which as we know is not correct - the latter)
and then I opened Yahoo! and saw that there are 40,000 stray dogs running around in teh capital of Romania......bucharest.......
and nobody is taking them to see Chris Brown and it's all fukked up and it's probably my fault.......
just gotta wonder

Animals are the things that impress me about good old Oz. Nowhere else on earth (apart from Zoos), do you find their weird and wonderful creatures, Koalas, Kangaroos, Duck billed Platypus etc.

Actually a long way from where he lives . It would take him a day to get there and another day to get home.tatiana wrote:this is called the 3 Sisters.

Emu actually lives closer to the Victorian Great Dividing Range.

There are few if any confirmed cases of that happening.precinct14 wrote:Funnel web spiders, having a playfully fatal nip at you, while you're on the dunny.
It is more myth than fact.

Re: Australia - Your impressions?
I would love to go to Australia and check out the sites and eat kangaroo tail, fine seafood, and exotic bird butt fruit. I have no interest in eating that meat pie. I've eaten Vegemite before and didn't like it at all.

hello Mr Ego
Australia is an alright kind of place to live in.
Re: Australia - Your impressions?
meat pies are good if you but quality , kangaroo is nice , but gamey. Vegemite is a taste that needs time to develop but becomes addictive.

Re: Australia - Your impressions?
We used to go by bus the thing I remember most is soggy sunday sandwhiches and the stupid rule now discredited that you could not swim for an hour after lunch in case of stomach cramp.blue moon wrote:We used to take the kids on this train for the annual Sunday School picnic.
It ignored the fact that children were eating cakes lollies and ice cream all day long in between swims and no child ever reported a stomach cramp!
