Re: where's Moony?
Moony, do you want a computer?
i have a spare Windows XP machine that you could have, you would just have to pay the freight to have it sent up to you.
it is in very good condition.
i have the perfect packing box and coolite also, so itshouldn't mightn't get damaged on the truck.
email me if you are interested.
i'm serious.

Re: where's Moony?
let me know before the 4th May if you want it .
it is in good running order, you would only have to get your anti-virus protection and you would be fine
i would put something (free) on it to get you started.
then you would only have to do regular updates.
i have better relationships with my cyber friends than i do with my 3D mates.
someone is always online...somewhere.
real people are at home cooking, or out with the families and friends.
they certainly aren't available when i am free for a talk.
and i can listen to my music while i am on the net, real people like your total attention.

Re: where's Moony?
Moony, it's possible to protect your computer from the gremlins and monsters out there in cyberspace free of cost. Anti-virus, firewalls and so on of good repute such as AVG Free (anti-virus), Zonealarm (firewall), Malwarebytes (remove bad stuff that's already on your pc) and so on.
I'm sure, between us, the more techie inclined among us can give you the leads you need.

Constance, I'll repost on the China thread when I stop feeling peeved that the page of recollections I posted was lost in transit a few nights ago.
Great! I'm looking forward to that!
Too bad about the missing thread.

Re: where's Moony?
Moony - you can call my ex, Michael, who is a computer technician (fixer) hardware and software......
he always helps my friends.......(all three of them....heheheh )
all you have to do is give me the word and I'll PM or email you his phone number - he'll take you through everything step by step - he will have you sorted in no time.......(not literally like the zero/infinity thread - those boys )
there's a running joke in emails at work about dumb idiots saying literally on TV shows
like "she was literally breathing down my neck"
or "I literally fell of my chair laughing" hehehehehe
I've always been confessional - not really that worried about it.....you shouldn't worry about it either - everyone likes you
(I don't think we could say the same about me.....hehehehe )

Re: where's Moony?
okay...so here I finally sit, in the bait shop, in a tiny rectangular cubicle with the arctic blast of an air conditioning fan making life uncofortably chill while the sun shines outside...but the cold does somehow mask the smell of bait.
The booth doubles as a storage space so I'm flanked by cases of softdrink and crates of tour brochures. There are mounted shark jaws adorning the walls and the computer has a problem entering the letter 'm'...it's a horrible contraption but beggars can't be choosers. I drove out here on my bike last week looking forward to catching up on the ATU news and posting...my bike broke down at the front of the shop and I had to round up some help to try to push start the thing so I could drive home...a few burly pig-hunters obliged and eventually I rode home again...I didn't even make it inside the shop, let alone into the booth.
So just a quick hello. I' still alive.

Re: where's Moony?
hey Moony, everyone missed you
especially Catherine
good to see you online even if it is just for a short time.
i don't mean to hassle you, but do you want that computer, or are you okay.
i can send it to you, care of the bait shop if you want.
if you want it, send me an email with your details.
all you have to pay is shipping.
you don't have to take it, i don't mind.
anyway, still good to hear from you.....
