Re: Things you wanted to say......
I injured my right shoulder rotor cuff, yesterday, and it hurts like .... A LOT.
It hurts everytime I twitch it, so typing is impossible.
Codiene, panadol, lavender wheat heat packs, heat rub cream, and pot.
Bloody housework.

Tats, sorry to hear about the shoulder! Take good care of yourself.
User, thanks for your input.
The saga continues with C and CC. I'll write more when I have more time.
Its 8:10 and I'm getting Julia out of bed to catch the school bus. The kids have a half-day today and E has a guzheng lesson at 1:30.

Cheers constance, we look forward to your news.
They have block exams here also, and because my.17 year old took the least needed courses, he has few exams, so is at home .... Often.
My shoulder still hurts, sadly mixing painkillers and pot doesn't make it get fixed any quicker.
But don't tell anyone

Re: Things you wanted to say......
Tatiana, I hope your shoulder feels better! Sounds like you have some good meds.
On Wednesday CC would not get out of bed. Cindy discovered that CC had not been taking her Lamictal since April. The bottle was still full. But Chu Chen had run out of vyvodan (sp?) because she was taking too much. I wondered that Cindy was letting CC have her meds herself because of the drug overdose last year. Maybe CC insisted but I still can't imagine letting her have the pills herself...
I did some research and emailed it to Cindy. I got the webpages, MDs, and admissions phone numbers for Cornell-NY Presbyterian and Yale-New Haven. Both are less than an hour from Cindy. I called the admissions numbers and got very nice women at both places. Both said there were no beds and that it was crisis season and worse than other years.
On Thursday CC got out of bed but wouldn't go to school but she started to work on her research paper. Cindy thanked me for the research but said that there was no way CC would let herself be put in a hospital and that she would refuse to switch therapists. Cindy is not thrilled with CCs therapist but at least CC will go. I wish CC would at least see an MD Psyciatrist and see the therapist as well.
Now we are at a crossroads. CC refuses to see anyone and Cindy is exhausted. But I'll call her tomorrow to see if CC finished her paper. But unless Cindy wants to talk a lot, I can't hover.
Sad situation. Any recommendations greatly appreciated!

Painkillers and pot has the same effect as painkillers and alcohol. Not a great mix, tatiana wrote:Cheers constance, we look forward to your news.

Tatiana,
Just wanted to touch base with you because I know you are interested and concerned. I called Cindy yesterday but she was out. Left a message on her voicemail to call me if she wanted, no big deal. So now it's just wait and see what evolves. I'll call her next Sunday.
Thanks again for all your helpful insight!

A is not B
Alcohol is not Pot
Therefore, Alcohol and painkillers is good, but Pot and painkillers is gooder. Hahahahah...It's simple logic, man!

Well I declare, are you calling me stupid and a liar? Them fightin' words? Get in the ring! And you should know by now, you can't kill me. So looks like I'm gonna win. Hahhahahah... I'm spent. Messin' with you is no fun. I've ignored your claim so many times, and still, I'm not dead. And boy the difference in the experience. Are you experienced?
Hey Tat, I rolled my ankle the same day you hurt your shoulder. Unfortunately no Mary to help soothe the pain. I lick gold off the ceiling, but that doesn't help any. And flippin' Pinz won't kill me. He's an asshole! Hahahhahah...ole!

hey woo, i hope your ankle is feeling better now
my shoulder is one of those deep miserable injuries that comes from being overworked and under-loved in the household housework department, it has affected my lower back and lots of muscles. (my shoulder still hurts but less, heat cream helped the most ~ i can only imagine how it must be for others )
mine is a rotota cuff injury.
of course, there is this
and emu

chanting is good, no one died, and remember 'what goes up - must come back down'.

thanks for the news update, i really hope things improve for cindy and CC.
i had dramas here over the weekend with my son and his girlfriend ...
the medications and CC ...
an example of how some cannot medicate themselves .
my sons girlfriend has a sad history of neglect, blah blah etc...
she is trying to clear up a pelvic inflammatory disease (long story ... blah blah etc) ... well she is 22, has moderate intellectual impairment, has a horrific dysfunctional family .... and was left to take her own course of antibiotics ... she got the pills wrong, she drank and now she has to repeat the course
it is a terrible story, but the thing is .... some of them are just not capable of dispensing medications to themselves, and need sensible adults to do it for them
the fact that CC wouldn't get out of bed ... is okay for a short time, then the adult common sense must take over.
Re: Things you wanted to say......
constance, my 22 year old son told me the other day that ... every day, he wonders why he has to stay alive.
every day, he wishes that his life was over
it is not because he has unbearable pain or lives in a terrible place.
he has a good job, and a comfortable future
he just has Asperger syndrome, plus a huge pile of other mental health things, and does not want to be alive.
and i think the worst part is that i am running out of things to tell him to stay alive for.
when he asks me why he has to tolerate the mental grief, pain and torment ... i don't know what to say.
and i know i am tired of doing it all on my own.

Even some times Satan comes as a man of peace...
Like I said, I've been messin' around. I guess yer not catching that.
But now it's personal, so says the movie-man's voice in my head.
Yes, I'm incorrect...but how again are you "experienced"? Wait, perhaps I should drop the Jimi-drug speak, and ask for a record of your personal experience. You can also provide scientific proof. Because that will show me I am wrong. I want to be proven wrong. And once I'm proved to be a wrong, I must be righted. And the only way to be righted is on Redemption Road. Please hurry, for a fear that I'm to be vaporized soon. But what happened to Maria Theresa? I think she was murdered. I got so anger that I climbed Mt. Noogiewoogie and chanted my ass off...I forgot if anyone died.

it is all good fun I think Mother Theresa just stopped breathing and passed away late one evening. I am glad that you and the others are keeping this forum going. It seems hard to recruit anyone new

As you've told me about Chu Chen, the best you can do is just be a constant supporting presence. I hope his pain is relieved. I'm glad he has a good job. That is a support. Asperger's syndrome must be very hard for both of you.
Cindy has not returned my phone call or email. She is always very busy Mon-Thurs. I don't want to pester her.
My sister is here visiting from Reno NV. She thinks CC's parents hve been too lax. But my sister doesn't have children. She has pets.

Hi Tatiana, how is your shoulder, much better I hope.
Today was the last day of school and Elisabeth had her awards day and moving-up ceremony. First she won the Technology prize. The teacher did a long preamble about the student's particular strengths and talents and then said "and the award goes to Elisabeth Clemmons." She won the French prize and the teacher said,"Mark my words, this young lady will be a Congresswoman from NY." And she won excellence in Social Studies and English and best effort in Earth Science.
I am so proud of her!
Since today was her last day at the middle school, I'm going to now email thank you notes to the teachers.

thanks for asking Constance ... my shoulder still aches, but it has gone back to Less pain now
Re: Things you wanted to say......
my youngest failed his senior high school exams
he has the intelligence etc, but he puts NO Effort into anything, except WOW, mine-craft and some other computer programmes that he in involved in, him and his mates built a server and he seems a bit interested in IT
i was notified last year that he would not qualify for this years testing . the Queensland Core Skills test, which was last week, so it is not a happy house here.
it won't affect his job opportunities because he has no goals.
stuffed if i know where i went wrong, the other 2 passed school.
and the worst part ... i am not allowed to use the word FAILED when i talk to him, in case i cause depression or something
i have to be careful in my criticism in order to upkeep his mental health.
BAH....
he is a lazy little shit that deserves to be told to get up and get working
i am fed up with political correctness.

Re: Things you wanted to say......
I saw many children like him when I was teaching . I thought then and I still do the fault was not the child's fault , but the fault and expectations of the Education system of trying to fit every one in the same pattern . Teachers and schools talk a lot about catering for individual differences. Yet when it comes to the crunch what it means is it is ok as long as they fit into a general pattern .tatiana wrote:my youngest failed his senior high school exams

It is a matter of the teachers and the school trying to find out what motivates him . Not putting him into the too hard basket or just giving him busy work to keep him occupied and not a diusruption.
I know that you may think my view fits in with the politically correct.
But there are many children who do not fit into tradional schools and who have flourished when they have been challenged by a teacher who understands.
History is dotted with people who have succeeeded in later life butwho struggled at school and were branded as failures.
