Just had a post go astray on the Poetry thread in the Literature section.
Re-posted, of course, but it gets irritating.

my posts have a short shelf life - I don't think it would be much of a loss if one or two disappeared

No worries, SJ. We'll muddle through.
EDIT: Ha ha. Ironically, this very post just went astray, too!

okay, this time I captured what we see.
i am posting this because i just lost a very important reply in the Pink floyd music thread.
The website is too busy to show the webpage
HTTP 408/HTTP 409
What you can try:
Refresh the page.
Go back to the previous page.

Re: I keep losing my posts
Was something up with the site this morning (Sunday)? I kept getting a blank page when I tried to log in, and had convinced myself that ATU II had sunk without trace.
Also, I intermittently find myself viewing an odd "Diagnostics"-type version of the page instead of the regular version.
Yep, the ATU II software needs tapping with a spanner on Monday morning , when forumotion Help becomes available.

OK. It gave me quite a fright.

Re: I keep losing my posts
I lost one post last night.
Does anyone else keep getting a box on the screen saying that there's a problem with the script on this page and asking whether you wish to continue running it?
I click YES two or three times in one session whenever this box appears.

A few nights ago I lost a post to Constance in the China thread. It hasn't been a problem since then.

^ I've never lost any posts here (as far as I know) but, when I get that message outside this forum, I invariably press NO. For what it's worth...

Stranded Jellyfish wrote:Just installed a "Draft" button at the bottom of the form in which you compose your posts. Hit that button, and a draft of your post will be saved to your profile. A good idea, for long posts especially, to save now and then while composing them.
a 'Draft' button is a good idea.
and no more lost posts here either.
