A mouse in my house
I feel bad about using glue traps because they're cruel, but nothing else is working as the neighbourhood rodents seek shelter in my cosy flat from the Autumn chill.
The score so far:
Conventional traps: 0
Poison: 0
Glue traps: 2

Hey Eddie, watch this from about 54 seconds in. See things could be worse!! I bet you remember places like this too, don't you? This block was close to where my nan lived at the time.
I can't believe the way we used to live and it's not even that long ago. But, the thing I do notice is the kids seem happy and free, so do the dogs, cats and rats.

Sorry to hear the mice are back.
I saw one on my porch twice this summer. Ugh. They make my stomach turn.

There was a mouse running up and down the aisle at the cinema last night during the film. It distracted me somewhat. True story.

Thought for the day: in London, you're never more than 12 feet away from a rat.

Quite apart from the hygiene issue, there's something about the rapid and unexpected movement of a mouse that does startle me, but women take the sudden appearance of a mouse even worse, in my experience.
A former girlfriend once replicated exactly the classic 'Tom and Jerry' housemaid routine of standing on a chair and screaming when she saw a mouse.
In Happy Days, Beckett has Winnie express the fear that a mouse might run up her leg. Is this true of all women?

They are a pain in the arse if they are in your bedroom (not literally), as they are so noisy. But other than that, I don't really mind them.
Rats on the other hand make me physically sick.
Is it just me or do spiders seem MUCH bigger this year?

Re: A mouse in my house
The glue traps have claimed another victim.
A second (in another trap) managed to wriggle free, leaving a serpentine trail of grey belly fur embedded in the glue.
The council have been cutting down vegetation on the nearby "Wilderness Trail" in preparation for the winter months. Hence the mouse migration indoors.
