Pam Bricker--rocker, clerical worker, jazz chanteuse, professor

Post  pinhedz on Tue May 31, 2011 1:58 am

I met Pam Bricker when she was doing a mind-numbing repetitious and enervating job for the gub'mint.

Supposing it was just a temporary thing, I said something like I figured anyone doing that for more than a few weeks would go nuts.

She said: "I've been doing it for 6 years."

I was like silent

A few weeks later she left. Then I started seeing ads in the paper saying that Pam Bricker was performing at Blues Alley downtown. And I'm like "Could that be the same Pam Bricker?

I didn't know the whole story then, but here's some of it roughly chronological:

The closest thing to a hit song would be "Lebanese Blonde," was was part of the "Garden State" soundtrack:

I remember an interview quote from her: "Jazz is it's own reward."
