Starting drawing from manga

Post  Stanislav on Wed Jan 27, 2016 6:40 am

Hello there,
I've been learning to draw with a quite simple manga tutorial (here it is, if someone is interested: http://drawdoo.com/topic/anime-manga/), and I managed to improbe my skills in portrait and anatomy drawing, as it turned out.
The question is: is it OK to start learning to draw with manga? I'm quite anxious that my drawing can turn out one-sided a bit, I mean, good skills in outlining the characters, while no attention to landscaped/colouring/etc...

is it OK? if you want to draw in the manga style, it is OK to study the manga style. If you don't want to draw in the manga style, you should study another style.

Stan, if you didn't grow up in a Nipponese tradition, it can very challenging to become a convincing manga artist ... one thing i would recommend tho, if you are truly committed, would be close study of Tezuka
