Smiley seems not to have any use of his right index finger, and yet he uses his right hand for chording--which is left-handed playing--even though his guitar is tuned for right-handed playing:

You have to watch out when you're cutting sheet metal. There's supposed to be a two-button set up--with the two buttons several feet apart--so that both hands are out of the way when the big blade is activated.

One time I re-rigged the machine to work with one button, but I kept my other hand in my back pocket for safety. The assistant foreman had a hissy fit, but the big boss said it was OK as long as I kept one hand in my back pocket.

From a distance, most people probably wouldn't see the extensions:

Jelly Roll Morton said that Mamie Desdumes only had three fingers on her right hand.

Unfortunately there are no recordings of Mamie, because this tune goes back to about 1903:

A drummer being a guy who hangs around with musicians, allegedly, does Rick Allen count?

Def Leppard's one-armed drummer, Rick Allen
