Re: Quitting smoking
I don't know what happens to my mind when I'm trying to not smoke: life loses its sense like I'm not going to enjoy anything anymore. And when I'm already smoking that cigarette, my life doesn't make sense anyway and I feel worse.
I'm going to do it little by little. Only a few cigarettes today.

Re: Quitting smoking
I dressed like a pirat in carnival when I was a kid. It was great, though my mother just painted the patch instead of making one as easy as it seems...

Re: Quitting smoking
...I've just eaten 3 bananas. I had 2 big pancakes before. Eating all the time is the big drawback of quitting. I'm stuffed.

Three bananas in a row?
A girl found it funny that we call bananas "plátanos"

Re: Quitting smoking
asdf,
when you say that life feels lifeless without a cigarette, that is a normal reaction.
this might not be what you are feeling, but it might help
we become so accustomed to having a cigarette in our hands, it is as if we are missing a big section of our being when we stop.
and that is what is supposed to happen.
you are attempting to get rid of a certain section of your life and being (the smoking and all that goes with it)......so obviously, you will notice the absence.
that is one of the main reasons why people hesitate to stop smoking....they have to re-learn what to do with their hands, because they no longer have a cigarette to handle.
asdf, i do hope you know what i mean.
i will try to be more clear if needed.
....
hang in there, one day at a time....all that sort of useful encouragment....

but not too hard.....Moony.
nothing is never too hard
you just need confidence.
and to stop at a time when you are not going to be stressed
or channel the stress into giving up.
what better way to give it up to your ex, than to be able to be smoke free
Re: Quitting smoking
...thanks tatiana...I'll be smoke-free, but lookin' like a beer keg! You know, your support is really helpful.

Good luck Isa/asdf/my friend. Smoking is a helluva addiction. I smoked and loved doing so for 40 years. I have no advice on giving up, just an encouraging word or two - you can do it, honest. (If I could do it, anyone can...)

good work felix....
well done
isa...
i smoked for 26 years.
the cravings do not stop overnight, it takes time and practice.
you might have to learn how to be a non-smoker.
Re: Quitting smoking
Sounds interesting. I'm gonna face it like a game when I'm bored and like a challenge when I am under some kind of stress.
Thank you, Tatiana and Felix.
