All Ruslana has to do is keeping making those big fail music videos and I will surely die...And no you can't play with my blue balls after I am gone.

Ruslana tries many different music genres--they can't all be winners.

And she keeps getting more and more political, which some of her fans object to:

I listened to the song, but did not watch the video for I was busy looking for a message from Shakira that I remember seeing on TV either day after 9/11 or days after...I don not remember. I cannot find it. I did find this article though:

"When I received the news, I think I reacted like the other millions of people, very nervous and confused," said Shakira. "The fear that I have is that from this tragedy will turn into an even worse tragedy, because it is very easy to fill ourselves with hate and bitterness. When we are filled with this hate, it affects are actions. Therefore, I am worried that a war might occur and that the entire world might suffer for the irresponsible acts committed by a few people."

At this time in the United States, there is a discrimination against everything Arabic or anything that looks Arabic. "I'm also fear generalizations, because the Arabic world is very large and a grand culture. The Arabic world is not all Muslims, nor are all Muslims terrorists. I don't think the United States or any other country for that matter should retaliate against this terrorism. There is a way to end terrorism with out hurting innocent people."

"These generalizations and the tendency to generalize botherme a lot. My father is 100 percent Lebanese, and he is not a terrorist. I come from a Catholic Arabic family, and I have never even met a terrorist in my whole life."

Lebanese are mostly Catholics (like Danny Thomas and Mari Abdo). I remember them from school (Dickie Abdo and Joe Robbie).

And Catholics mostly don't terrorize anymore, at least not the same way they used to in the 15th century.

Lebanon is the most religiously diverse country in the Middle East. As of 2014 the CIA World Factbook estimates the following: Muslim 54% (27% Shia Islam, 27% Sunni Islam), Christian 40.5% (includes 21% Maronite Catholic, 8% Greek Orthodox, 5% Melkite Catholic, 1% Protestant, 5.5% other Christian), Druze 5.6%, very small numbers of Jews, Baha'is, Buddhists, Hindus and Mormons.

I can honestly say that every Lebanese Catholic I met in Catholic school was Catholic (pretty sure about that).

Speaking of which, long after the battles between Penelope, Ruslana and Shakira have been won or lost, Mari Abdo will still be a force to be reckoned with.

Hey! What are you doing here?  I guess you are not dead yet. Or maybe you are one of them snow zombies. P will still be hotter than M when P is 60 and M is 30 something.  Oh yeah.

I checked out the scene last night--CVS Pharmacy was open (folks got to be able to get their meds), Dominos Pizza was open (same thing) and Pazzo Pomodoro was open (Question Question ). And 7-11 has to always be open for the snow-plow drivers. The plow drivers were not doing a very good with the side streets, but they were keeping the 7-11 parking lots nice and clean.

But that was 10 hours ago--the mail boxes weren't even covered up yet. They say we have 12 hours more to go. Just another day in Minnesota. Smile

Then it is a great day to stay inside and play with the Cruz sisters, I mean, video games...and don't forget to brew up a  yummy pot of hot Nescafe.

It's cruel, I know, but Mrs. pinz has decided to subject this so-called "blizzard," this pathetic so-called "snow-megadon" to the jeering contempt of the Minnesotans back home--so she sent them this pic:

A lousy 18 inches. Rolling Eyes

In all fairness, it's supposed to keep going until 11:00 pm, so we could still get 24", but you can see it's not exactly a howling-wind-whiteout situation. geek

In a further attempt to mock the lameness of Virginian weather efforts, Mrs pinz has now sent this pic to Minnesota.  Rolling Eyes

But, again, in all fairness, 6 more inches fell after that.

But the real point of this post is that it turns out that Saturday was not actually shovel day--it was Shovel Day Part I.

Because it turns out that after you shovel out to the street--you still have to widen it so that it's wide enough for a car! Who knew? Shocked

The Washington Post assures us that they will deliver Saturday's paper IF IT's The LaSt thing They Do--which it might be, because they don't mean today--and I don't see Sunday's paper yet either.bounce

Re: Not Dead Yet

Post  woo on Mon Jan 25, 2016 4:22 am

Ja! I remember newspapers. Last year, a few days after obtaining my very first cell phone, I, with great excitment, texted friends and family from Starbacks stating how hip and relevant I felt to be sitting in the world's premier drug shop gettin' jacked up while looking busy taping away on my futuristic telephone for the very first time. A friend promptly texted me back welcome to nineteen-ninety something or the other. I felt so dejected that I tore off all my clothes,  rubbed ash all over my taut body, and jumped around ontop of my table screamimg, "Set the mermaid free! Set the mermaid free!"  Even though I was escorted away by the Man, and booked into the Vista jail, I can say with estatic enthusiasium that it was well worth it for I made page two of Section C of my local newspaper. I bought more than several copies, signed them all (baby I am a star!), and sent one via the U.S. Mail in an large envelope signed and sealed with a kiss to my sarcastic amigo in Los Angeles with a note that read, "Bet you never did that at a Starbucks in the nineteen-nineties,  Mr. 2kool 4skool."  Boy did it feel good one upin' that hipsterdoofus friend of mine. I dared him to upstage me, but as we all know, folks from Hollywoodland are really nothing more than yellow-bellied Liberal cowards their days in their theaters of the aburd. OK, I am spent from this stroll down Memory Lane. What? I always keep a satchel of ashtray ash with me...Don't you?

I feel bad, Pinz. I have lied to you and now feel the need to confess my transgression. So, um, this is hard for me, yeah, I wasn't at Starbucks as my "tru" story claims; I was really at the World's Best Cup of Coffee when I stripped naked and danced around on my table like a pagan fly boy. You understand why I had to lie though, right? I am just like you, I want to be in with the in crowd too.
