teh rapture
it's midnight here in Australia - so it's officially 21st of May (judgment day)
I'm just looking at these crazy american evangelical sites
If you don't hear from me anymore - I've been carried off in the rapture.....

It's still 20th May here for another 8 hours or so. I wonder if JD is based on your time or ours?

It's OK it's just Judgment Day, the end of the world is 21st October apparently.
Anyway I thought no-one was meant to know about this except God?

Yeah but she just can't keep a secret - writes 'em all down in her 'book' - voila, them as knows can tell us just what her cryptic journal notes mean.Nah Ville Sky Chick wrote:It's OK it's just Judgment Day, the end of the world is 21st October apparently.

Man, I've seen some arrogant people on the internet, but I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've ever seen someone non-facetiously imply that they are god

Re: teh rapture
the only love affair that's of any use to me - is the one I have with God.......
that might seem blasphemous to you atheists and heathens and Christians......(see only Christians get a capital letter)
but I might as well confess.....
probably ought to go to bed and dream of spiders' webs in my head now
of course, there's a bit of a learning curve for me to become a Christian
but hope springs eternal
this is scheduled for an edit tomorrow - so don't any of you crazy fools quote me
a red rag to a bull

Re: teh rapture
Why do you assume anyone believes that it happens automatically right at midnight? If I say "a concert is happening this saturday" do you think I mean it happens as soon as the clock strikes 12 and it officially becomes saturday?

Re: teh rapture
I believe that Mr Rapture Calculator has said it will happen at 6:30 pm. Dunno if that's local time or GMT or what - but forewarned is forearmed they say: so I'll be out at 6:30 pm.

Re: teh rapture
According to the Bible no one will know the time or the hour when the time of the end will occur .
So there is obviously something not right there.
According to Thessalonians we are to see the rise of some one known as the lawless man.
At varios times he has been thought to be Hitler, Napoleon, Pol Pot , Stalin and Bin Laden but all of them died and nothingg happened.
The end of the woirld has been predicted countless times since Ad 78 yet we are still here . I still expect to be posting here for a long time to come.

I was here at midnight, it is almost midday here now, let's see if i am still here at the next midnight.
all of us, not just me.....
do you think everyone should meet up when we get to the other side, if all of this happens at 6.30PM this evening.

Thus saeth the Lord.
Thank goodness for that,
We are all not going to go to Rapture.
No, No, No, not at all.
I was too busy anyway,
and we are still only just starting to get properly unpacked here in the new house.

'Rapture' day dawns for US pastor
21 May 2011
A Christian group claims that as the sun rises today, it will signal the start of the last day of the world as we know it
Those who have a long list of things to do before they die had better get moving - according to a Christian group which believes it is the beginning of the end of the world today.
Harold Camping, leader of Family Radio Worldwide, claims to have calculated the time and date of "the Rapture" by adding up numbers in the Bible.
While his theory has been met with widespread scepticism, followers of the movement believe Jesus Christ will return to Earth in the coming hours to gather the faithful into heaven.
It is not the first time Mr Camping, 89, has predicted the end, but despite his failed warning in 1994, this time the retired civil engineer from Oakland, California, is adamant he has got it right.
"Beyond the shadow of a doubt, May 21 will be the date of the Rapture and the day of judgment," he said in January.
But others are less convinced, and so-called "rapture parties" have been planned to celebrate what hosts expect will be the failure of the world to come to an end.
Meanwhile, a Facebook page titled "Post rapture looting" suggests: "When everyone is gone and God's not looking, we need to pick up some sweet stereo equipment and maybe some new furniture for the mansion we're going to squat in."
And seeing the potential to profit from the prediction, one website is selling T-shirts marked: "I survived May 21, 2011. You really thought the world would end? Dumb ass."
However, it is hedging its bets on delivery times.
"If the world doesn't end, you'll get your shirt in approximately 10 business days," it promises.

Radio preacher Harold Camping who has suffered a stroke after wrongly predicting the end of the world(AP)
The US radio preacher who predicted that the end of the world would take place last month has suffered a stroke.
Harold Camping, 89, was taken to hospital after falling ill at his home in California.
Charles Menut, a regional manager for Harold Camping's radio company, Family Stations Inc., told supporters about the stroke in an online message.
Mr Camping's radio company spent more than 100 million dollars (£61 million) publicising his Rapture prediction over the past seven years. When it failed to happen on May 21, Mr Camping was widely mocked and he called it "a very difficult time."
He has insisted that his prediction was correct and said the end would become apparent on October 21 instead.
