The Bob Dylan Depreciation Thread

Post  precinct14 on Wed Jun 01, 2011 8:04 am

Sorry, Bob. You did invite all your fans and followers to be scribes, so I came up with a simulacrum of a thread title. Your true worth hasn't depreciated, but you did play shit lead on Leopard-Skin Pillbox Hat.

Bob, your teeth my darling. They were simply appalling. Have they ever enjoyed denticar frottage with a Wisdom?

Some of those tunes Bob sings--I heard them before him.

You haven't aged so well, my dear. 1964-5 was perhaps your high-water mark, looks-wise, with a touch of 1975-76 thrown in.

The hair he's got now--is that real? Suspect

If it is, fake hair might be a good idea at this stage.

Does Bob have a high opinion of his fans? I suspect not. Suspect
Is he grateful? Not hardly, I'd guess.

I hate these lines:

Now I wish I could write you a melody so plain
That could hold you dear lady from going insane
That could ease you and cool you and cease the pain
Of your useless and pointless knowledge

who the fuck would dare to write that?

...my all-time favourite dylan recording, from Pat Garret & Billy the Kid, is 'Final Theme'.
...it's an instrumental.

The Pat Garrett and Billy the kid album, I think I only gave it a listen and it bored me

Have you seen Hearts of fire, Moony? I highly unrecommend it hehe

When he played a role in this movie, they asked him why he did it... "were you bored?" and he answered "I never get bored".

yes, I knew the double meaning, that's why I said it (I'm so mischievous...) but thanks for the visual explanation.
Meg Ryan was very cute btw... the eighties hairstyle doesn't help though

Well but that's not the meaning, right? I thought to cum was to have an orgasm, no matter if we're talking about men or women... but it's only for men. So a welcummed woman is what it is. And don't give me a visual example of it hehe
