Have you seen Pasolini's Salo?
Some nazis make some boys and girls eat shit in the movie... I read somewhere that Pasolini meant that that was what was happening in our culture...

strangely enough i think i saw some of this movie (it was unbanned in australia about 20 years ago according to wiki).
a few weeks ago I went to sleep in my armchair watching telly and when i woke up there was an old-looking black and white movie that had a sort of freeze-frame look. it was too much for me to watch so i didn't. i can understand the theatre of cruelty idea...but to me the movie was like mock-depravity...like it was happening to cardboard cut-outs and not flesh and blood.
...probably it wasn't the same movie. But the topics were the same. It was on SBS (who play sub-titled mpvies)

...I am not making any more confessions about my nicotine habit.
...they're too awful. But not all of them are demeaning.
In a fit of desperation yesterday in downtown Cairns I walked up to a old, thin homeless-looking and half-drunk aboriginal man and said 'excuse me sir, do you smoke cigarettes?' He did. I held out the packet I'd bought an hour earlier and said 'then would you like these? I have to give them away. They're killing me'. I gave him the box of matches as well.
...it's a desperate business.

It may not have been the best thing to do.
