You're not talking about a simulacrum, that's the thing. If you're talking about a simulacrum, you're a twat.
So here I am, not talking about a simulacrum, but I went and scanned the front and back covers of my old LP jacket, and I copied it into a template so I can print out a front CD insert and U-card that looks just like the LP cover, only smaller, and I don't know what to call this thing. Mad

Gimme a clue, this thing is like, you know, similar to...it sort of simulates (can I say simulates?) the LP jacket.

Should I call it a similar thingy, or a simulated whatchmacallit?

I just want a name for it--gimme a name for it. bounce

I used 'simulacrum' without even thinking twice. Lovely word. If Lil' Bubster Cot doesn't like it, so much the better. Mad, Lil' Blubster Plop? You should see the big, broad grin on my face. 'Snot-faced'. Like that one, too. Surprised no-one picked up on 'lucubrate'. Now that is a tad de trop, Lil' Lobster Pot. In my defence, it's a word I stumbled on accidentally, many years ago, but of occasion, like to use. 'To study by lamplight, late into the night'- not bad, to have one word that covers that. What do you say, Lil' Tubster Blotch?

Sometimes I use high-falutin' words like "edify" and "purport." I've even used "albeit," twice. This is a good way to impress girls (at least some of them).

Garrison Keillor says that English majors get more girls. I'm not an English major, but I think I could play one on TV.
