I have no beef with Hal Jones even though he banned me multiple times and told me to go play in traffic.

But, seriously, if HJ instantly bans you if he sees you over there, I see no reason - other than "We're better than that" - not to instantly ban him if you see him over here. Sauce for the goose, eh!

So there are exceptions to the no ban ideal . Exceptions in any area are what often cause problems. One forum I belonged to had a rule that to join you had to be nominated by an existing member. This was because at one stage they were swamped by a religious group who tried to take over the forum.

He hasn't been banned yet. Nominations from an existing member sounds a good idea, I wonder if you'd have got in?
