Lost highway: my avatar, and the shot I took of the last half mile of road that James Dean drove on.

Cool photo. Why not use Dean's famous last words as your tag line: "That guy's gotta stop... He'll see us."
You know, Sal, I'm not sure if James Dean even spoke those words. They were printed in a magazine interview with Rolf Weutherich (Dean's passenger) when he was recovering in hospital. Yet he also claimed that he couldn't remember the crash itself. Dean is also alleged to have murmered under his breath, just before: 'Isn't life wonderful?'. Poetic irony, but fact?
I made this about 17 years ago. The interviews were mainly conducted via transatlantic phone calls. It was put up on youtube without my final consent, unfortunately. The full version is around 15', but the editor hacked out all the movie clips and stills, to get round any legal issues, plus some interesting build-up to the crash sequence, and an extended, montaged music piece closer. Pity, as the full version flows far better. He also came up with the teasingly sensationalist header 'The Truth?'. It does have the only interview with the only surviving witness to the crash. You even get to hear me ask a question, towards the end!
Actually, you could remove my piggy line, and replace it with 'More than a couple of times I've walked that old highway. Gives you a real feel for the 50's', (it's a quote that was removed from the youtube piece) to go under the avatar- if it'll fit. Thanks!
