Schmuckista Daily reports that if Suicide Squad feels like an extended trailer, that is because it was "literally re-edited by a company that makes trailers"

This one is sort of like Welcome Back Cotter meets The Bad News Bears meets Kindergarten Cop meets Papillon.

In the US version the female romantic lead will be played by Sandra Bullock:

This one was sort of like "The Day The Earth Stood Still," but with less FX.

I think the critics think they're s'posed to like it.

I think the critics think it must be good because the humanity is endangered by trigger-happy militarist types.

Sangeet says that civilian control of the military is pretty robust nowadays. There was a period in USA after WW2 when that wasn't the case, like when some of those WW2 generals didn't think they should take orders from a candy-ass like Kennedy, but it isn't like that now, according to S.
