Alzheimer's

Post  pinhedz on Wed Apr 08, 2015 3:48 am

Dr. Lipton says:

"Even more epidemic than Alzheimer's itself is the fear of Alzheimers."

Yes, because boomers are such ninnies.

So, Dr. Lipman [no, it's "Lipton" ] explains the difference:

-- Not knowing where your car keys are -- NOT Alzheimers;

-- Putting your car keys in the refrigerator -- ALZHEIMERS.

there are people without alzheimer's who put their keys in the refrigerator

there are people with starting alzheimer's who feel confused and forgetful and feel useless and think they might be depressed

Yes, Dr. Lipton says this also is an early symptom.

But keys in the frig? Do you know people who've done that? Shocked

Not long ago I put mine on a wheelie bin while I was gardening.
The garbage truck came along later.
I smiled at the driver.
He emptied the bin.

New set cost $200.

But I'm not worried about Alzeimers.

I remember where my car was when it happened.

I've always thought that the real question is not do we have it--yes or no--but how far has it progressed.

I'm quite sure that I already had the beginnings of it when I was 4 years old, and any of my brothers (there's between 4 and 6 of them, I think) would back me up on that).

knowing almost nothing about it alzheimer's seems a strange disease to me, those diseases that are a deterioration of who the person is, that start with symptons that are much like other problems. I guess it's not unusual to find these similarities in medicine

In my view the great majority of diseases that pesent as alzheimic are caused by medicines.
Forgetfulness and vagueness are side effects of so many of them.

Ei'm just guessing here. I reckon the symptoms of alzheimers are forgetfulness and vagueness and a sense of unease snd distirted reality. I think.
A lot of medicines give you these effects.
It's just my opinion.
I'm not a doctor.

Are you the d. e. formerly known as doctor evil?

They say (at least some of they do) that statins make you shuffle around with a walker looking vacant. Neutral

I'm not a doctor, but my dad is a doctor.

Of course I never listened to him.

'cept now he's getting close to his 96th birthday. Shocked

Is it time for me to start listening yet?
