The Laughing Legacy of Debbie Reynolds

Post  Yakima Canutt on Sat Mar 14, 2015 6:40 pm

Debbie Reynolds was raised in the Church of the Nazarene, an evangelical Christian denomination that emerged from the 19th-century Holiness movement in North America. With its members colloquially referred to as Nazarenes, it is the largest Wesleyan-holiness denomination in the world. At the end of September 2014, the Church of the Nazarene had 2,295,106 members in 29,395 churches in 159 different "world areas."

some of our users in flyover country have been registering complaints about an excessive amount of science and foppishness on this website, so a reminder to post something red-blooded now and then ... here's Tony Randall and Debbie Reynolds

What's your take on Joan Blondell?

Joan Blondell.

The pinhed has often seen the name, and always thought: "Must be a made-up name." But it's not.

She had a 50-year career and made a really big pile of movies. Shocked

In fact, I think she holds the record for the biggest heap of movies that the pinhed never saw.

I think it was Pip Savage who was saying "Joan Blondell can't sing or dance." And then one of the aldermen was all "she had charm coming out of her ears."

When I was a teenager and someone was recommending me movies I remember I said, fine but I don't like westerns, musicals or space movies

So she was one-third of Debbie Reynolds?

That's actually a difficult question.
