Franz Gruber's guitar

Franz Gruber's guitar has frets on the soundboard, which means it must be French (it could be Italian, except they put inlay all over their fingerboards.

This kind of guitar usually was made by Lavigne--except they had rectangular or smiley-face bridges instead of frowney-face bridges.

They play "Silent Night" on this guitar every Christmas:

This guy has what looks like Franz Gruber's guitar--except it doesn't have a frowney-face bridge--and he's making like a Spaniard instead of a German.
