Soul songs promote ethnic diversity

Post  pinhedz on Mon Aug 18, 2014 4:36 am

Pinhedz favorite hymn is "In Christ there is no east or west," written by that soul-shakin' brother William Arthur Dunkerley:

But at first the pinhed just liked the instrumental version as played by John Fahey (and souped up by Leo Kotte) on guitar, which has since become a broken-finger physical-therapy exercise for the pinhed.

Little did the pinhead know that the song lyrics promotes racial equality and ethnic diversity:

In Christ there is no East or West,

In Him no South or North;

But one great fellowship of love

Throughout the whole wide earth.

In Him shall true hearts everywhere

Their high communion find;

His service is the golden cord,

Close binding humankind.

Join hands, then, members of the faith,

Whatever your race may be!

Who serves my Father as His child

Is surely kin to me.

In Christ now meet both East and West,

In Him meet North and South;

All Christly souls are one in Him

Throughout the whole wide earth.

Here's the musick (the fast and fancy part starts at 0:58).

Looks like google nuked Kottke. Neutral

No matter, let's try Fahey.
