Who wrote what?

Post  pinhedz on Sun Jun 01, 2014 1:26 am

Unico Willem Reichsgraf Van Wassenaer was so ashamed that he was a composer that he wouldn't allow his name on his published works. Shocked
So his 6 Concerti Armonici were misattributed to Pergolesi until 1980.

Stravinsky used themes from the Concerti Armonici for his Pulcinella suite--and said he got them from Pergolesi.

Wassenaer thought they were not very good, but he was wrong about that.

Yogi Berra once said "I never said half the things I said."

Fritz Kreisler was sort of the opposite, because he liked to write stuff and then tell everyone that someone else wrote it. scratch

Eventually people figured out that Fritz wrote all this stuff himself, and now they are all being played by pretty Korean girls:
