Vote for your favorite Romanov

Post  pinhedz on Sun Apr 06, 2014 10:12 am

The pinhed has his own opinion, but I want to give all sexes and orientations a chance to express their views.

Peter (aka "The Great") Romanov:

Natasha Romanov, obviously a direct descendent judging by her courage, resolution and single-mindedness (qualities that the pinhed admires most in a woman):

Fun fact: Russians of the Scandinavian pursuasian are generally called "Ryurikovichi," after Rørik (Рюрик in Russian) the great Nordic prince of Novgorod, who was responsible for injecting a good deal of nordic DNA into the Slavic gene pool.

If you see your name on this chart, you are a Romanov.

If you are not on the chart, you could still be a Romanov--you might want to look into that. study

You'll note the sudden disappearance of Nicholas II and his family of 7 in 1917, but there were still cousins and siblings.

So how (I hear you asking) did the Romanov dynasty just happen to start 400 years ago?

I came about after the messy ending of the Ryurik dynasty, after Ivan (aka "The Terrible") killed his own offspring, and that unfortunate musical-chairs and Boris Godunov episode finally played itself out, and Michael Romanov ended up in the driver's seat:

But you can still see Ryurikovichi all over Russia, even though they are currently out of power, so Natasha's Romanov ancestors could easily have interbred with them.

The pinhed has always considered gene-pool mixing to be a good thing.  Mongrels are the best.

I might add that the birth and death dates for Nicholas II are incorrect: he was born in 1868--not 1898, and he lived until 17 July 1918--he was not executed immediately after the 1917 revolution. study
