^ that is a great painting.
Andrew Wyeth's work is exceptional, imo.
he was criticized and compared to Rockwell, by some academics
I don't think that's a legit comparison

I suppose that Wyeth is compared to Rockwell because they are both perceived as "literal," but Rockwell is fictional (optimistic--not meant as a putdown), while Wyeth is sort of hyperliteral (if that's a word--or if it's not geek ) and more than a tad ominous.

I like Rockwell's work.
academics often dismiss both as schmaltzy, illustrators.. for the low brow.

you know, pastorality as a go-to theme isn't quite as gangbusters as it was once, but as long as bean curd cultivation continues...

Are there derogatory findings re: Major (later Colonel, and eventually, Commander) Kira Nerys? Django El Tahir El Siddig seems like a nice enough name. geek

Furthermore, I've read that she drove the Kardashians from her homeworld, before being forced to work with the Starfleet contingent brought in by her government to administer the titular space station built in orbit around her planet during the occupation.

One time Major Kira woke up and she was a Kardashian, living in a nice Kardashian home with a doting Kardashian father, and she was all what the heck, and her Kardashian father explained she was really a Kardashian the whole time, and she was surgeried and programmed to be Bajoran for some reason ( probably related to Kardashian anti Bajoran resistance movement plans) and so Major Kira is truly in a pickle, because she does not know if she is Bajoran altered to look Kardashian or if she was a Kardashian altered to look Bajoran, and in that small but respecable Kardashian family condo, Major Kira is really like the typhoon in the teacup, & then some.
