Tymoshenko is in Maidan square stirring up the crowd.

If she gets elected, Yanykovych had better head for the border (now would be a good time, IMO).

Sometimes the pinhed just feels compelled to set things straight--about this "golden toilet" story, for instance.

Lately Ukrainians have been taking their frustrations out on statues of Lenin--like this one, for instance:

That statue wasn't hurting anyone--at least not at the time--but the protesters needed the space on the pedestal for the golden toilet--which they allege was Yanykovych's. Suspect

Now, I'm not saying that Yanukovych didn't have nice bathrooms--this one, for instance, is very nicely and tastefully done:

Ruslana says she is not more doing the parliament, but is to keep playing piano on street. bounce

"Dear Ukrainians, dear MPs. Yesterday I announced quite clearly that I have no plans to participate in the government. Maidan Circle of People's Trust formed the criteria for candidates who are supposed to take part in the government. There is my signature as well. I do not meet these criteria, and I have already announced that I'm not planning to go in politics … I stay Maidan volunteer. And Maidan has the right to control the formation of the government and other legislative acts under the 5th Article of the Constitution."

US says Yanukovych "abdicated" when he fled to Russia.

Yanukovych says he's still head of state, even though he's in Moscow.

If he had a shred of decency, he'd say he's retiring and thanks for the memories and thanks to the well-wishers for the cards and letters. Smile

But if he had a shred of decency he'd have shown that years ago. Neutral

Yetsanyuk was saying he wanted Ruslana (that's Ruslana Lyzhychko, but she usually goes by one name) to be minister of somethingorother, but she posted on facebook like: "What part of NO do you not understand?  Is it the 'N' or is it the 'O?'  I am street activist; I am not one of you power-hungry money-grubbing scumbags."

She didn't say it exactly like that, but, anyway, the answer is NO."

Tetyana Chornovol took quite a beating, and she had one purplish-red eye and a nose cast for about 6 weeks, but she's mending pretty well:

Tetyana Chornovol has been appointed Minister-of-Getting-Rid-of-Creepy-Corrupt-Ass-Holes--or something like that.

But the Crimean situation is not looking good. Neutral

I mean--does anybody think these are pro-Russian protesters? Suspect

Before they tried to beat Tetyana Chornovol to death, they tried green paint:

The green paint didn't deter her. One youtuber quipped: Кикимора из болота вышла! Razz

One disturbing thing about the protesters is that the most militant really are anti-semetic.  They think there is a "Moscow-Jewish" cabal.

And Yatsenyuk is probably right in calling his government the "kamikazee government."  Even if things improve later, he and Tatyana Chornovol, Parubiy and Bulatov and the rest of them, must expect to go down in flames. Neutral
