I am unfamiliar with GropiusHub, but I am familiar with 1960s efforts of masters like Nikhil Ranjan Banerjee to educate young people about the nature of the ragas, and I have not forgotten the master's words (and I quote) "a raga is not a mere scale," from which I think it follows that a raga is not performed in a "mere key."

In listening to The Doors, I do not hear Maru-bihag, Bhimpalasi, Sindhi-bhairavi, Gunkali, Puriya Kalyan, Tilang.

Perhaps the Doors play in ragas that the pinhed is not familiar with--which is, I admit, most of them.

But The Doors--at least to the pinhedz ear--do not sound like Ali Akbar Khan. They sound like a picker I remember from days long past who lived up one floor and noodled all the time. You might say he was "differently enabled," but if you say that, you should at least add that he was rigidly Eurocentric (although modal and pentatonic).

As I was saying, Ruslana believes that her only hope now is to enlist the assistance of Dr. Roald Sagdeyev--with his expertise in plasma physics, to drive the Russians out of Ukraine.

Sagdeyev currently works for the Albright Stonebridge Group (ASG), a global strategy and business advisory firm led by--you guessed it--former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, former National Security Advisor Samuel R. Berger, and former Commerce Secretary and Kellogg Company CEO Carlos M. Gutierrez.

Heaven knows Ruslana tried her darnedest to impress upon the political leaders of the world the importance of united action on behalf of the pro-democracy forces in Ukraine. bounce

And when talk alone failed, she tried to get Sagdeyev's attention at the international conferences, hoping that charm and flirtation would win him over.

But let's get real--you can't just seduce a former-Soviet science adviser at an international conference. Rolling Eyes

Ruslana has a plan--but she has to get Sagdeyev ALONE.

Needless to say, Sagdeyev's compound is very well guarded.

Ruslana only wants peace--she has said so over and over--but in desperate times like these, a Hutzul does what a Hutzul's gotta do:

So, what is Ruslana’s fiendish plan?

Sagdeyev is known to have experimented with drugs and listened to psychedelic sitar music since arriving in the US.

And Ruslana knows he is a Tatar--and Tatars are very hot-blooded.

So, the best way to win him over will be to dance provocatively to the sensuous strains of Ali Akbar Khan:

I know what Yakima is about to say--the musical mode Bhairavi would be better suited to the arousal of furious passion.

That is true, of course. But consider Sagdeyev's age; Ruslana doesn't want the ancient weapons expert to have a heart attack. Neutral
