Are we in the "Rock Era now?

Post  pinhedz on Tue Jul 02, 2013 8:57 am

I just read an article about the "Top 25" of the "Rocke Era."

It was all about the Beach Boys, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, Aretha, Little Richard, Ray Charles, James Brown, Jimi. Janis, Chuck Berry, Elvis, ... etc.

Did the "Rock Era" End?

What era are we in now?Question Question Question Question

A lot of the hit singles now sound like Electro Hip-Hop Dance Pop Optimized for Stripper Venues. Rock lives on thru several key niche subgenres - retroish posey rock optimized for whites with some college education, Christ Rock for the Fearless Faithful of the Flyover Fiefdom, and of course you have smaller revival scenes like the Second Wave Scandinavian Boutique Doom Metal and maybe if you go to say Henfling's Tavern in Boulder Creek you might luck out and see the group called YOUR FAVORITE FOREIGN MOVIE which is arguably a top-tier San Lorenzo County Steely Dan Tribute ensemble, yetp
