Before letting their children listen to this, parents should explain the historical and social context so that the kids don't take away the wrong message.

this is the shitey 1997 "enhanced" version of Max Rebo Band performance in Episode VI, that has stayed in all subsequent releeses of original trilogy - YES, GEORGE PUKE-AS, LET US CONTINUE TO WATCH A MOVIE FROM 1983 WITH 1990s era CGI, in the year 2014.  THAT IS TRULY A NICE IDEA.  THANK YOU. THANK YOU, FROM ALL OF US TO YOU.

ah yes, Lapti Nek shows up in various incarnations in various Lucasfilm product, including an english languaj cut, that i'll try to find ... and this makes it all more baffling that Lucas would try to wipe Lapti Nek from history - now, the DVD releases of Episodes IV thru VI at least gave bonus crappy unrestored versions of the original films as they were shown theatrically ... but you will be not be finding one iota of Lapti Nek or other excisions on the fancy pants blue ray discs.

Once you start seriously diddling around with your decades old films ... very soon your new enhancements will look out of date, which puts you in the position of then having to update your films with each generation of FX evolution, or in the case of the original SWars trilogy - GEORGE SAYING THE DEFINITIVE VERSIONS OF HIS 1977 to 1983 TRILOGY ARE THE BADLY DATED 1997 "ENHANCED" VERSIONS - JARRING BECAUSE THEY DON'T LOOK LIKE ACCEPTABLE FX OF TODAY, AND JARRING BECAUSE THEY DO NOT FIT WITH THE EXISTING LATE SEVENTIES AND EARLY EIGHTIES FILM ELEMENTS -- WITH THE ACQUISITION OF STAR WARS HOLDINGS BY DISNEY CORP, THE ONLY HOPE IS THAT SOMEONE THERE WILL ACCEPT THE ABSURDITY OF THIS PREDICAMENT AND DECLARE SI SE PUEDE

anyhow, the alternate Lapti Nek, from assorted song platter releasings:

eesh, the more one digs, the more this Lapti Nek phenom keeps emulsifying and embiggening

so here is the Meco cut, and the stab taken by Joseph Williams from hit band Toto

I WILL SAY AGAIN, THE EXCISION OF LAPTI NEK FROM ALL OFFICIAL RELEASES OF EPISODE VI IS THE GREATEST TRAVESTY LUCAS PERPETRATED ON THE ORIGINAL TRILOGY - THE OTHER "ENHANCEMENTS" MADE ARE BUT AN ANNOYANCE COMPARED TO THE LAPTI NEK EXCISION WHICH BORDERS ON A CULTURAL CRIME.  AN UNFORGIVABLE OUTRAGE.

and another excision consigned to the echoes of history, replaced by some forgettable New Age flute jam ... not quite as grave a loss as the LAPTI NEK debacle, but still a galling shame ... i am now presenting the Meco version of abused, original EWOK CELEBRATION
