Here is the text of section 1:

Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

The intent of the law matters. The intent was to say "You can't just take a black guy out and hang him. You have to give him a fair trial--and then hang him."

I would never vote for anyone who is proabortion. (on demand) I was going to vote for Romney until I found out he murdered some lady, tortured a dog, assaulted a homosexual, is a general in the war on women and takes orders directly from the Mormon Church.

BTW: more White males were hung in America between the end of the Civil War and the 1964 Civil Rights Act than Blacks.

And Jackie Robinson was not the first professional Black Major League Baseball player...as a matter of fact he wasn't even the second !

In Ottowstan Prefecture, sperm are defined as "Proto-Persons" and it is legally mandated for sperm-friendly entrance ramps to be constructed at all Halls of Records and Chambers of Commerces. FACT.

I think the idea was that the white men didn't need a 14th amendment, because they were getting fair trials already--mostly.

Leastwise I think that's what the politicos were thinking at the time, so the 14th amendment was for colored folks--mostly.
