RIP  Pete
He wrote some decent songs. Sorry couldn't find a Bob song I liked by Pete.

"Pete Seeger: Folkie, Communist, Millionaire"
'Seeger was exceedingly generous with both his money and his time.
Thanks to this war on his own wealth, Seeger escaped inclusion in the infamous “1 percent” (a good thing, too, given that he was active in the Occupy Wall Street protests).
But he was dangerously, perilously close: a recent estimate of his net worth pegged it at $4.2 million, putting him just a couple million shy of that infamous percentile.'

But Pete really did try to cut the cable--it's right here on tape (at 2:25).

Sure, Pete was a Stalinist long after such lifestyles were fashionable, but he did lead the movement which made the Hudson River noticeably less wretched, so that's a bit on the forte side.  Tho I'm sure such efforts are considered laughable amongst you DoD pensioners.

In recognition of Pete's contributions to a cleaner Hudson River, the pinhed apologizes to Pete for the crack about "environmental stuff" Embarassed --even though it is still obvious that Pete hasn't the foggiest notion what mulch is bounce.  I reckon that environmentally he just wasn't a hands-on kind of guy, but advocacy was always his forte.
The pinhed will now wait to graciously accept Canutt's apology for his way-wrong guess that the pinhed is a "DoD pensioner."
It's not that the "DoD pensioner" label is necessarily an insult--but it's wrong to label DoD pensioners as Hudson-haters without doing a survey first, isn't it. Shocked

And relative to nothing--considered purely as a songwriting effort, "Sloop Clearwater" is not one of Pete's better accomplishments.
