I wish every other day felt the way that night felt. It's a song that has a feeling, a sound, to slowly die to. My cousin and I stayed up all night long Floyding out. We never went to bed. Our friend was so mind blown by the show that he didn't stick around with us, but instead went home overwhelmed. My cousin wondered aloud why God didn't kill me right there at the end of the concert. Would have been a great personal ending to an amazing night. Aloha...

Tats, I've already told you my story about American High School kids on a trip to London asking for directions to the original location of the famous "Flying Pig" album cover:

Animals album cover- Pink Floyd.

Naturally, I directed them to the old Battersea Power Station on the south bank of the Thames:

I'll try, Tats, but I can't now remember where I found it and this may take some time.

Great steam-age photo, wasn't it?

In the meantime, here's a couple of interesting pix taken on the day of the photo-shoot (early December, 1976) for the Animals album cover:

My research reveals that the Who also used Battersea Power Station: booklet Art for Quadrophenia, 1973:

I always thought they had painted that pig in.

Oh, it was a real inflatable. It seems they had a marksman standing by on the day of the photo-shoot to bring the pig down with a rifle shot if it misbehaved. Shocked

the pig was a promo when the Animal album was released.

it was interesting when everyone was talking about the pink (pig) place...ATU interim.....and how terrible it was (rightfully)
...well to the Pink Floyd listener...the Pink Pig is very important.

i went to see a Pink Floyd tribute band here last year, and a very large blowup pink pig featured.

It appears that we are presently floundering in a pink maelstrom of Jungian synchronicity.
