Abel Korzeniowski
Recently I've been getting a bit into what is sometimes being refered to as 'contemporary classic'.
I'm too uneducated in the field of classical music to speak out on the validity of such a term.
What I do know is that I find it a very interesting branch of music.
Abdel Korzeniowksi ... I didn't even know his name up until an hour ago but apparently did know some of his work.
The stillness of the mind
This tune featured prominently in a fillm called A single man - one of the extremely rare motion pictures that have had a real impact on me.
I could copy-paste more random video's from YouTube, but would find it more interesing to explore Abel's work interactively with you guys.

Re: Abel Korzeniowski
That's basically my take on the matter as well.
It would be pointless to call this pop, jazz or folk or any one of such labels.
People who are deeply into classical music - people then, who must hate to see centuries of brilliance all piled up in such a meaningless term as 'classic' - will probably dispute that it's classical music and with good reason.
But all in all I think the term 'contemporary classic' fits the genre sufficiently to help it gain access to the target audience.

For a philosopher 'modern' refers to the period of Descartes - mid 18th century -up until Auwschwitz.
For graphical artistst - i.e. painters - the time frame is probably even shorter - not sure when to start but only up until the Russian revolution.
