She also recorded with Mingus, King Curtis, and Charlie Barnett.

As a result of indefatigable research (assisted by dumb luck), I just discovered a song written by Helen Carr--but not recorded by her.

The recording is by Betty Roche, who released it as a track on her "A-Train" LP on Bethlehem Records in 1956 (coincidentally Helen Carr's record company was also Bethlehem Suspect ).

A train, going at that time from eastern Brooklyn up into Harlem and northern Manhattan, using the express tracks in Manhattan. It connected Harlem and Bedford-Stuyvesant, the two largest black hoods in NYC.
