Klingon Warnog, a beer that aims to capture the warrior essence of the Klingon culture will be available to Star Trek fans in the US from the end of this month.

The new beer – a Danish Roggen Dunkelweiss – from the Federation of Beer, who also produce Vulcan Ale, will go on sale first in select liquor stores and bars across Indiana and Washington State.

The beer is being produced under license by CBS Consumer Products and produced in collaboration with Tin Man Brewing Company,  and will be introduced to consumers through a series of premier launch parties under the banner First Contact: Klingon Warnog over the next year.

These events will kick off with launch parties in Evansville and Indianapolis from 26th July, where everyone is almost certain to be speaking some form of pigeon Klingon by the end of the night.

The Federation Of Beer began in the small town of Vulcan, Alta., Canada, population 1,836 (the official Star Trek capital of Canada). The townspeople hold an annual Star Trek convention — Spock Days— celebrating the fact the character (played by actor Leonard Nimoy) was born on the far off planet of Vulcan. At the event in 2012, Dr. Richard Weger ran into his now-partners in the Federation, Calgarians Paul Carreau, a retired Canadian military veteran, and Vern Raincock, a beer marketer for Delancey Direct Incorporated (importer of craft beer into Western Canada). All three were drinking beer, talking about Star Trek (being avid fans of the franchise) and thought the TV programme deserved a good ale.

Their Season One Episode One beer “Vulcan Ale” was first released in Canada just as Star Trek Into Darkness debuted in cinemas.

SANTA CLARA – It’s been a rough couple weeks for 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh.

The night before the 49ers’ playoff hopes were reduced to a flicker with a loss to the Raiders, Harbaugh chipped his left front tooth while eating a steak – a $2 steak, Harbaugh quipped.

“Bit into a piece of meat,” Harbaugh said on Monday. “There’s not much of that tooth left. It’s mainly bonding. I got that tooth knocked out in a football game.”

Harbaugh, then QB for the Indianapolis Colts, lost the tooth early in a 42-14 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in an 1996 playoff game.

"It got to be a matter of survival out there," Harbaugh said in a New York Daily News report the next day after the playoff loss. “I got some dental work that needs to be done. I got about 15 to 20 stitches in my mouth. I can't really talk.”

Harbaugh on Monday said he took a hit from Steelers linebacker Greg Lloyd that knocked out his tooth. But Lloyd was on injured reserve and did not play in that game.

More likely, Harbaugh lost his tooth on the fourth play of the game when Steelers linebacker Jason Gildon and defensive end Kevin Henry sandwiched him. But it could have been two plays later when linebacker Chad Brown and defensive end Bill Johnson crushed him.

That databank entry is waay incomplete.  For starters, pasta al fiorella is referenced in TNG Season 6, Episode 16 (Birthright, Part 1)

So I was in Arbutus playing a concert with Svetlana and went to a restaurant afterward that said it was Hawaiian.

But it was not Hawaiian for Hoales--it was Hawaiian for brown people.

So I couldn't read the menu--it was all just about loco moco and musubi and huapia. geek

Loco moco:

loco moco is da kine...though if I ate breakfast, I would prefer chilaquiles with salsa verde and poached huevos.

Forget Cali vs Minnie because we all know that Minnie ain't got nothing on Cali. What needs to be settle by the judges is who has tastier grub: The Islands of Hawai'i or Mexico?

I assumed that Hawaiians don't speak Spanish a whole lot (although I can't rule out the possibility that "loco moco" is of gaucho origin). Suspect

So I tried an online translation from Spanish to Russian:

loco moco = сумасшедшие сопли

Then I used Google translate to translate сумасшедшие сопли into English:

сумасшедшие сопли = crazy snot

Somebody put this pic on the computer (different from what I saw; I reckon it's whatever they got each day):

Makes you think "Eddie Would Go" might not be the best motto for the restaurant.
