Re: is there a badge?
barrumundi doesn't sound like something appetizing
it sounds like you're eating something that's still alive
I don't even want to google barrumundi to see it
edit: your brother's fish? What part of your brother is that?

...sigh...by the captain and ms gizzard and the environmental impact of a mine at the edge of town spewing poison into the (no longer) pristine river. I'm not against mining as such but I wonder what we're gonna eat when all the arable land is gone and the rivers and oceans are so polluted they can no longer sustain life. And policies that get rid of small business with a small carbon footprint and back mega-business devouring everything with its relentless greed. And....oh I'll just get heartburn and possibly my blood pressure will rise till I have a heart-attack if I go on about the death of the small town....tatiana wrote:blue moon wrote:...just that. GIKHOKO INITIATION BADGE
20th Century
Bapende Peoples, Democratic Republic of the Congo
Bone, 4 x 2 in.
The masks of the Bapende peoples can be classified into two styles, the western, or Kwilu and the eastern, or Kasai style. This mask, or more properly badge, reflects the Kwilu style. It is a smaller version of the crested mbuya initiation mask and would have been worn as a pendant, or gikhoko, by an initiate into a secret society as a badge of honor. It also served as protection against illness and hardship. The three-pointed crown of this mask indicates that it refers to the pumbu, or chief, type of mbuya mask.
...lat night when I came home I was..um...sozzled. I was afraid to look in the computer today in case I'd made an idiot of myself...but all I did was to neglect to thank you for this fabulous badge. It's very thoughtfully chosen and has made me happy.

Re: is there a badge?
Does that mean your going to wear it? You have to if you want to join the secret society
Hehe don't worry. I didn't even notice your sozzledness
Edit: You always sound sozzled so there was no difference

exactly as i expected.
damn anna.
i don't think they are aware of the long term damage they are doing to the future of this state.
her and Peter Beattie......
and that stupid Julia.
death of the small town....is a big thing, and i feel sorry for you all.
they say Gladstone harbour is stuffed now also.
Re: is there a badge?
...the infrastructure has been disappearing for years. We don't even have a bank any more, and where once we could fly out of town 5 days a week, now we have no flights at all...on and on it goes. If I want to buy a book I have to order it from a bookseller 700 miles away...and god help us if we need a dentist, because we have to travel 700 miles to get to one. At least a doctor flies in twice a week.tatiana wrote:
