I have not noticed that trend downtown. scratch

But downtown they don't say "da kine" either (except maybe in the White House).

The problem with the remaining teams is that they are all inoffensive and un-hate-able. Eric Hosmer seems like the neighborhood UPS guy.

The question is often asked in the gub'mint: Why should we pay human beans to translate things?

Why not just let computers do it?

Well, the reason is that computers don't do a very good job with complex technical subjects, even though they do great with easy stuff like song lyrics:

PUTERS CAN'T DO A GOOD JOB WITH NON-TECHNICAL SUBJECTS.  "LES AVENGERS : L'AGE D'ULTRON - BING TRANSLATE CHINA EDITION" WAS LOATHED IN ALL OF MAINLAND CHINA.

So, this Russian girl has her favorite little thingy, and for some reason, she has to show the entire world what her favorite little thingy is. scratch

I might add that Google translate has no idea what вищички means.

But, if you fix the spelling, there are other sites sophisticated enough to give some examples:

вещи́чка
noun, female, inanimate
TRANSLATION
EXAMPLES
Здорово! Я соберу вещички!  -  Great! I'll grab my stuff!
Марк собрал свои вещички и ушел.  -  Mark took his stuff and left."

And how, pray tell, does "Здорово" get translated as "Great?" Rolling Eyes

OK, I suppose it really means that, assuming "great" doesn't really mean "great," and ... whatever.  geek

I know a guy whose last name is "Hermosa," but I don't think he's all that hot. Rolling Eyes

But I was just introduced to a girl named "Jul Marie Hermosisima," and she's more like it. Smile

Bahía de Cochinos is an inlet of the Gulf of Cazones located on the southern coast of Cuba. By 1910, it was included in Santa Clara Province, and then instead to Las Villas Province by 1961, but in 1976, it was reassigned to Matanzas Province, when the original six provinces of Cuba were re-organized into 14 new Provinces of Cuba.

In Cuban Spanish, cochinos may also mean the queen triggerfish (Balistes vetula), which inhabits coral reefs in Bahía de Cochinos, not swine (Sus scrofa).

Hopefully the Balistes vetula will continue to thrive, along with our coral reefs, which continue to thrive even as the anthropogenic-global-warming community exhorts them to stop thriving.

i am tired and sick of adverts and food bloggers saying "melty cheese"

i don't mind making up new words but there is already a word for this, it is "melted"

"melty" is the height of cloyingness and it is afflicting me with venomous bile
